The General Assembly of IFIP, 12-14 September 2013, Poznan (Poland)

12-14 September 2013 in Poznan University of Technology (Poznan, Poland), an annual General Assembly of IFIP was held.


IFIP General Assembly meetings was attended by representatives of most of the national organizations of the IFIP, including Australia, Austria, Brasilia, Canada , China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan , Korea, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States. The meeting was attended by the heads of most of the technical committees and members of IFIP.

Ukraine at the IFIP General Assembly this year represented the Representative of the Ukrainian Federation of Informatics in IFIP General Assembly I.V.Grebennik, and Chairman of UFI Working Group “Information technology in educational and cultural environment ” O.A.Chaykovska ( Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts ). The meeting of the Technical Committee of IFIP TC2 – Software: Theory and Practice attended a member of the Committee from Ukraine, Chairman of Committee 8 – Software: Theory and Practice UFI M.O. Sidorov (National Aviation University).

The General Assembly of IFIP focused the comprehensive discussion of the operation and strategy of IFIP in modern terms , the interaction of national organizations within IFIP, creating the conditions for a full scientific and educational activities led by IFIP.

By decision of IFIP General Assembly at the request of the UFI Management a venue for the next regular IFIP General Assembly in September 2014 was elected city Kyiv. Therefore, the task of management and members of UFI is to prepare the organization of the event taken at IFIP high standards.

Holding IFIP General Assembly in Kiev can be combined in a place and time with the organization of UFI events related to this international meeting. The aim of these activities should be direct involvement of UFI members to personal contacts with the leadership of IFIP, information about IFIP by word of mouth, communication with the leaders of IFIP on topics of interest to Ukrainian and foreign specialists.
